In the RollerCoaster Tycoon universe, expansion packs are addons for the base games (RCT, RCT2 and RCT3). The addons for the first two games didn't change gameplay at all, as they were only added new features and rides. The third game added completely new ways to play the game in addition to new features and rides. Most notably the ability to create Pools and Water Parks and the addition and animals the ability to create animal enclosures in the game.
